The Coopers Edge School Parent Community Group would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend drop in sessions to comment on early scheme designs for the Coopers Edge School held in May, over one hundred people came along! If you were not able to attend, or would like to look again at the designs that were on display they are now available on our blog.

Following the feedback from these sessions final designs will be selected and in keeping with our desire to have a school shaped by the needs of the local community these will be on display on Monday 5th of July between 7 and 9pm at The Whittle Inn, Gloucester Business Park Brockworth. This evening has been carefully chosen to ensure that it does not clash with any World Cup games so we hope you will be able to come along as look at the designs you have helped to shape. Once again members of the design team will be on hand to answer you questions and hear you feedback.

Directions to The Whittle Inn can be accessed via their website, http://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/restaurants/details/?id=3550

The hard work has not stopped for the Coopers Edge School Parent Community Group and The Robinswood Trust since being appointed to run the new school. One of our first tasks has been to select the partners for the design and build of the school. It’s really exciting to see the two years of hard work that we put into our proposal starting to turn into reality.

Following the selection process undertaken by the local authority, two Gloucester based companies have been chosen. The appointment of two local firms is something that is particularly pleasing; it is great to see that the project will have real economic benefit to the surrounding area.

E G Carter have been appointed as the constructors, as a family based business they really understand the ethos and vision of our group and have been a pleasure to work with so far.

Ian Brown, Divisional Director for E G Carter explains;

"E G Carter are delighted to be part of the team to deliver the new primary school to serve the community on the Coopers Edge development. Our own family based ethos will ensure we embrace the vision for a truly inspirational multi-community based school."

The design team selected are Roberts Limbrick who also have their head office in Gloucester.

Director Joe Roberts says:

"We are delighted to have been appointed on such an exciting project and are looking forward to working with Carter Construction, The County Council and the Coopers Edge School Parent Community Group. Developing a new school on such a beautiful site within a young and growing community is a fantastic opportunity and we look forward to helping to develop and deliver your vision of a primary school fit for the 21st Century.

As a practice that works nationally, we are always very excited when the opportunity arises to work on local projects, particularly one such as this which is right on our doorstep! Most of our staff live locally and a number live within the new Coopers Edge development so this project is already 'high profile' within the practice."

The design process has begun and as we promised in our proposal, public drop-in sessions will be arranged where all those who are interested and would like to comment on the design of school will be able to share their views. Dates and locations for these meetings will be finalised shortly and details will appear on this website before long. If you would like to receive email notification of when and where these meetings will be held please register your interest here
